Politics in Bayelsa State has recently built momentum following the registration of a new political party, Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) that was introduced by Senator Henry Seriake Dickson, former Governor of Bayelsa State.
The NDC appears to appease the acceptance of the Ijaw and Niger Delta people, that it presents hope to their aspirations, rather than queueing behind the provisions of failed political parties that doesn’t reflect democratic presence in the country.
Founder of the party, Senator Seriake Dickson believes the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has already been corrupted, masked and infiltrated by selfish political interests, the new bride is the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), that is geared towards providing service to the people.
State Reporters revealed that the wake of NDC in Bayelsa State surged reactions from several Bayelsans, including chieftains of the PDP, and the ruling APC.
While some feel the former Bayelsa Governor and current Senator of Bayelsa West, Dickson betrayed his former party PDP, where he initially advised others not to abandon, the Assistant Secretary of APC, Bayelsa State Mr. Tamaranpreye Nerius Owutuamo conceived things differently.
He asserted that those talking against Dickson’s political advancement today are the same people Dickson helped, that soon, he shall call the ingrates out.
In a facebook post credited to him on 28 February, the APC assistant scribe stated emphatically that, “criticism should be directed at Dickson by people like us; not by those who rose because of him. I find it deeply troubling when beneficiaries turn around to drag the very person who helped them.

I have never been a supporter of Dickson from day one, and I don’t see myself supporting him in the future. However, ingratitude is something I cannot tolerate. If you and your family benefited from his goodwill, then show some restraint and respect.
Publicly attacking him after benefiting from him is unacceptable to my values. On that note, I will call you out by name, along with every member of your family who benefited from him; so that shame will find its way to you all.
Critique is allowed. Ingratitude is not.
Permit us to critique Dickson, not you whom Dickson uplifted.”
