Victor Osimhen, in the early hours of Tuesday, arrived to a rousing welcome in the Turkish city of Istanbul to complete his astonishing transfer to Galatasaray.
The Turkish SuperLig giants cashed in to sign Osimhen after his proposed transfers to Chelsea and Saudi Arabian club Al Ahli fell through.
The Nigerian striker, in a video posted on X, appeared happy as he joined the singing and chanting by Gala fans at the airport.
Hundreds of fans also lined the road leading to the airport to welcome the reigning African Footballer of the Year.
“They came here at this time of night (3am). I can already feel them. I will dedicate myself for them every match,” an overwhelmed Osimhen said on arrival ahead of the season-long loan deal, as per media reports.
Included in the season-long loan deal is a break-up clause that allows Osimhen to join a club of his choice.
