The booming support for the continuation in the Senate for former governor of Bayelsa State and current senator representing Bayelsa West is resonating momentum as more groups and notable individuals are voicing unreserved support.
In Senator Dickson, Bayelsa West and indeed the Ijaw have found one worthy in strength, knowledge and character to politically champion the cause of the Ijaw National Ethnicity and not merely the Bayelsa West senatorial district.
At this critical time in the political life of our country where nepotism, intimidation and blatant abuse of power and the rule of law is prevalent, Bayelsa West and the Ijaw nation cannot afford to present just anyone who hasn’t been tested, most especially skilled enough to participate with resultant positive impact to the region.
“No one goes to war with sentiments and no tussle is fair especially when it has to do with taking power, otherwise some other persons would have been governor of Bayelsa state today and Nigeria as well.”
Besides, HE Senator Dickson has spent the past few years effectively representing not only Bayelsa West with no exception to any LGA, but the Niger Delta and Ijaw nation at large.
“Some regions in the country have been very smart in retaining their senators long enough most of which are currently ranking members of the senate and the House of Representatives whose voices cannot be ignored.”
“Understanding the prevailing political climate in the country, regions have put forward their best hands without sentiments but for their common good and there is no reason why Bayelsa West, Bayelsa state and the Ijaw nation should not follow suite, which is also in the best interest of her people and area.”
