The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has nominated Numa Precious Keme, a student of Ido Comprehensive Secondary School, Egbemo-Angalabiri, Ekeremor Local Government Area of Bayelsa State, for the prestigious WAEC Vatebra Merit Award.
Keme earned the nomination after emerging as the Best Overall Male Candidate in Public Secondary Schools across Nigeria for the 2024 examinations.
Displaying exceptional academic excellence, the Bayelsa student cleared his WAEC results with eight A’s and one B, a feat that placed him at the top of public school candidates nationwide.
He will officially receive the award during the 63rd Annual Meeting of the Nigerian National Committee (NNC) of WAEC, scheduled to hold in Abia State in November 2025.
This recognition has been described as a moment of pride not only for Keme’s family and school community but also for Bayelsa State, which continues to record strides in education.
